The Swedish baritone, Michael Bartov studied at the
Nordic Conservatory of Music in Stockholm and later at the Royal Northern College of Music under Neil Howlett.
His operatic roles have included the title role in Don Giovanni, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte and Count Almaviva in Marriage of Figaro for the Nordic Chamber Opera, the role of Marcello in La Boheme for Stockholm Stadsteater and Co-Opera Ireland and Emperor in The Nightingale for the Royal Opera House (Stockholm). He has also sung Germont Pere in La Traviata, Danilo in Merry Widow and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte. During 2001 he sang the role of August Strindberg in the world premiere of the opera by I. Wikström, Confession of a fool at the International Strindberg Festival in Berlin and in Porto (Cultural Capital of Europe 2001). In 2003 he sang the role of Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte for Co-Opera Irealnd and also sang in a revival of Confession of a fool, brought on a Scandinavion tour and also sang concerts in Italy, Bulgaria, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
