The tenor, Nicholas Buxton studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and at the National Opera Studio.

His operatic roles have included: Don Josť in Carmen for Scottish Opera, Enzo in La Gioconda for Opera North, Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos in Augsburg, Germany, Otello for Folkoperan in Stockholm, Valzacchi in Der Rosenkavalier for English National Opera, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana for Sakai City Opera, Don Carlos at the Teatro Sociale di Mantova, Joe in Gershwin's Blue Monday at Teatro Verdi di Pisa and the Teatro Pergolesi di Jesi.

His oratorio work has included Beethoven's Missa Solennis, Rossini's and Dvorak's Stabat Mater and Verdi's Requiem, which he has sung at Westminster Abbey, Southwark Cathedral and the Stefaniesaal in Graz, Austria.

Highlights in 2003 have included Prince Andrey Khovansky (cover) in Khovanshchina for English National Opera and he was also invited to rehearse the role of Manrico in Il Trovatore for Welsh National Opera.

In 2004 covered the roles of Bob Boles in Peter Grimes and Panait/Andonis in Martinu's Greek Passion for the Royal Opera House London.
