A winner of the RNCM's Anne Ziegler Award and the intercollegiate
Alfred Alexander Award, Alexander Grove currently studies at the Royal
Northern College of Music with Colin Iveson.
Alexander has worked under the batons of Kent Nagano, Sir Edward Downes, Stephen Barlow, Noel Davies and Mark Shanahan. His operatic roles include Telemachus in Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria, Hippolytus in Hipploytus and Aricia, Dr Caius in Falstaff, Bajazet in Tamerlano, Chekalinsky in Queen of Spades (RNCM), Mercury in Orpheus in the Underworld (BYO), Colonel Fairfax in Yeoman of the Guard, Pierrot in Emperor of Atlantis with the Halle Orchestra, Nelson in The Sailor's Tale (Bawden - world premiere) and more recently Peter Quint in Turn of the Screw (RNCM) for which he received nationwide critical acclaim and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus with Clonter Opera in 2003. Recent engagements in 2004 have included singing the role of Charlie in Opera Group's Mahagonny Songspiel and Remendado in Stowe Opera's Carmen, for which he has received rave reviews.
He is currently singing Borsa in Mid Wales Opera's production of Rigoletto.
